The tradition of C Dream finale continues. With 4 pieces learned at camp and 4 brought from schools in the U.S., our campers present a jaw-dropping one-hour dance showcase on August 1 at the prestigious China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater (CNODDT) Auditorium. Their talents, dedication, can-do attitude, and love for art are truly commendable and what they’ve achieved at the stage are beyond everyone’s expectation. Dance Showcase

With skillful movement and awesome teamwork, campers, all dressed in traditional dance costumes, perform Daola and Caiwei, classic pieces from CNODDT’s two blockbuster dance dramas, Princess Zhaojun and Confucius, after charming everyone with exquisite advanced techniques presentation.

Students’ performances continue with a series of Chinese dance pieces they’ve polished in the U.S.–Calm Grassland takes all to a distant prairie under the serene sky, Language of Flowers evokes admiration of ancient saints, Preface to the Orchid Pavilion demonstrates anesthetics of Chinese calligraphy art, and Bowl Dance combines techniques of dance and acrobatics.

The show climaxes with the dance drama Grain, a newly-adapted work depicting famine, tenacity, hope, and tomorrow. With little knowledge of its historical background before the camp, young dancers, inspired by teachers’ stories, manage to grasp the emotions behind the work and successfully pull off the performances.

Graduation & Congratulations

Impressed by campers’ achievements, CNODDT teachers, camp managers, and VIP guests send their sincere congratulations to students and wish them all the best and success for future dance study. Mr. Xiao Yu, secretary of CLEF, Ms. Susie Shu, Chair of SinoUS, and Ms. Cong Wang, on behalf of all teachers, present commencement certificates to campers.
