Name: Los Angeles Home Chamber Singers

Vision: We strive to become a high-caliber, culturally diverse modern choir based in Los Angeles. We not only perform classical repertoire but are also dedicated to original works and cross-genre collaborations, bridging Asian and Western arts and cultures and providing an home for music lovers.

Mission: An innovative artistic ensemble blending classical bel canto, contemporary popular music, musical theater, and Hollywood film scores. We collaborate with top musicians from China and the U.S. to create and present music that resonates powerfully with our era.

Members

  1. Eligibility:
  • Music enthusiasts aged 18–35 (for especially outstanding candidates, the age limit may be relaxed appropriately
  • Open to all nationalities and ethnicities, diverse cultural backgrounds is valued.
  • Must reside in the Los Angeles area.
  1. Core Requirements:
  • Passion for singing: Enthusiasm for music and a strong desire to express oneself.
  • Team spirit: Choir is a collective art form, requiring collaboration and dedication.
  • Language ability: can sing in both Chinese and English.
  • Commitment: Able to attend regular rehearsals and subsequent performances.
  1. Preferred Qualifications (candidates meeting the following criteria will be given priority):
  • Interest in original music: Candidates with an interest in music creation or experience in songwriting preferred.
  • Music literacy: Basic ability to read staff notation or numbered musical notation; able to quickly adapt to new music works (we will run simple tests during the audition).
  • Vocal training or choir experience is a plus.

Commitment & Development Plan

We offer more than a choir seat—it is a pathway to global stage:

  1. Master Mentorship:
    Regular private masterclasses and workshops led by top Hollywood composers, conductors, and professional singers from China and the U.S., delving into music production, film scoring, and stage performance.
  2. Professional Development:
    Members will receive systematic training from professional conductors and vocal instructors to enhance vocal technique, musical expression, and presentation on stage.
  3. Premiere Original Works:
    Become a founding member and premier our original works on the global stage, with your name recorded in the choir’s history.
  4. International Stage:
  • Perform in professional art venues
  • Participate in international music festivals, concerts, cultural exchange events, and film/TV recordings.
  • Release high-quality digital albums on global music platforms.
  1. Multicultural Community:
    Join a family of world-class musicians and music enthusiasts, expanding your international perspective and network.

Application Process

Step 1: Online Application

  • Submit your application via email with the following materials:
    • Personal Information (PDF format, one personal photo and contact included).
    • One short A cappella video (1–2 minutes; one song in either Chinese or English showcasing your tone and pitch).
    • Any supporting materials demonstrating applicant’s musical ability (e.g., original compositions, scores, performance videos, awards).
  • Email subject line: HOME + Applicant’s Name

Step 2: Preliminary Selection

  • We will evaluate application materials and select candidates for the onsite audition.
  • Successful candidates will receive email notification.

Step 3: Onsite Audition

  • Ear training & sight-singing: Basic notation reading and melodic imitation.
  • Solo performance: Prepare a piece that best showcases your skills (accompaniment allowed).
  • Comprehensive interview: Assess musical philosophy, teamwork, and future aspirations.

Step 4: Admission Notification

  • Final results will be sent via email, along with rehearsal schedules.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Candidates not selected as choir members but interested in participating may apply as volunteers. We will issue volunteer certificates and eligible candidates may receive the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Schedule & Location

  • Rehearsal location: Alhambra, CA
  • Rehearsal schedule: We are a project-based choir group. Members are assembled according to the needs of music production and performance tasks, and its activity cycle and rehearsal schedule are set by performance seasons

Fee

  • This is a nonprofit arts project by Sino US Performing Arts Organization. The Organization provides rehearsal venue, operational support, and scholarship opportunities for outstanding members in its C Dream Program.
  • To ensure commitment and professionalism, selected members are required to pay a membership fee, covering training and production costs for performances (amount provided in admission notice).
  • All revenue from ticket sales, album releases, and merchandise will be used in the choir’s sustainable development.
